Ever since some top-of-the-line racing models and helmets began to incorporate aerodynamic designs, the entire motorcycle market seems to have shifted to the mindset of “wings are cool, ducktails are trendy.” Whether wings and ducktails are effective for ordinary people like you and me is not within the scope of today’s discussion. Because today’s protagonist is the super cool helmet, AGV Pista GP RR!

The new AGV top-level sports hat has a rather scary name. The Pista GP RR is designed to comply with the new helmet standard FRHPhe set by the FIM. It also complies with the familiar ECE 22.05, which means you can wear this helmet in your daily life, and you can also wear it to compete in major competitions.
In order to comply with FIM certification standards, the AGV Pista GP RR slightly increased the thickness of the helmet shell to 5mm, but it is still made of all-carbon fiber. However, this also makes it about 100g heavier than the Pista GP R, but I think the slight increase in weight will not burden the rider. Of course, the most attractive point is the big ducktail at the back of the head. According to official data, the Pista GP RR can reach a speed of 160km/h without the rider feeling anything. Interestingly, the ventilation holes on the top of the head do not have switchable covers, and need to be plugged or removed before departure using the included rubber plugs.

In order to cope with the track environment, the left and right viewing angles of the front lenses have reached an exaggerated 190 degrees and are equipped with PINLOCK fixing points. With the lens lock in the center of the chin, the lens can be quickly opened slightly to achieve ventilation effect. The lining is also made of a new material, and is combined with four hood sizes to create a variety of sizes from XS to XXL. It also provides a variety of customized sizes for riders to choose from, and is finally equipped with a built-in drinking water pipe to meet the needs of all usage situations.

In addition to the top-of-the-line AGV Pista GP RR, AGV also displayed the latest AGV K6 at this year’s Milan Motor Show. The main highlight is that it is made of carbon fiber composite materials, which makes this helmet
only 1,220g. Five different densities of styrofoam are used as a buffer inside, and the lining is also made of antibacterial material. It is also detachable and washable, and the design of retaining the glasses groove makes it more comfortable for riders in need. In addition, it can also be equipped with the AGV ARK communication system.

There are five air inlets on the front of the hat, three on the top and two on the chin, and a horizontal hole at the rear exhaust port, which gives a simpler visual feeling. The aerodynamic streamlined design of the outline also makes it clear that this is a higher-end hat. The mirror has an ultra-wide field of view of 190 degrees. Of course, it can also be used with a Pinlock anti-fog sheet, and it uses a double D buckle design.

Currently, purchasing information for these two helmets can be found online in Taiwan. I think if you are an AGV fan and ride a top-level sports car, it is indeed very suitable for you to buy the top-of-the-line AGV Pista GP RR to make the riding environment more comfortable and safer! It is quite suitable for the little passionate knight to replace K6!
